A U G U S T - N O V E M B E R

Hey there,

You know how sometimes a very short period of time has passed yet it feels like more has happened in that short time than what has happened in the last five years? That’s how I feel about the last few months. As many of you know I went to Zambia again this year to film and document some absolutely incredible things the Lord is doing over there. While all of that was happening, I also had a lot of personal life changes. Hopefully, I am able to somehow articulate the beauty and blessing that has graced my life recently.

At the end of August, I traveled to Zambia. There, my team and I were able to work on a lot of great video projects. The first one we embarked on was the filming of two music videos of original worship songs that Overland Missions Music wrote. We filmed them in breathtaking places and with the most beautiful individuals. It’s a crazy production to put on in the rural parts of the world but it is so extremely worth it. We won’t be editing and releasing those videos until early next year, but I will be sure to keep you posted on their release date! We did recently release five music videos that we filmed earlier this year that I had the honor to assist with the creation.

After that, in October, Overland put on an insane event in Lusaka, Zambia’s capital. It was called King of Kings. I’m sure you have heard about it from me or others involved. But, if you haven’t, here is one sentence to briefly summarize it. Basically, this event was created to bring kings, queens, chiefs, and a plethora of other rural leadership from over thirty countries to one place in order to learn about God, worship Him, and be poured into. It feels like words can’t truly explain what a big deal this event was. This was an event that impacted the Kingdom on an unexplainable and spiritual level. Below is a video that explains a bit more. We will have more content to come on this event so keep an eye out!

While all of this was happening, life continues to go on, as well. Although all of what I was doing was wonderful, I couldn't help but feel sad about a few other life things going on. My grandmother, who I call Mama, passed away. My heart was broken for my father and for my family. I was kept updated on her funeral and celebration of life but my heart ached to be there. They all ate meals together, laughed together, and cried together. It doesn't, at all, change my mind about following the Lord's calling on my life. Life still happens and I could be so extremely sad about death but I am comforted by the Lord and the gift of Jesus. The fact that Mama was a strong believer and I will be reunited with her back in Heaven later where we can talk for ages, share stories, have tea together, and live in the pure light of our King is something that will be the remaining memory of hope that I have when I think of her.

Another thing that happened during all of this is special and sweet and it is beyond extremely dear to my heart... Ethan proposed to me! If you don’t know Ethan very well or at all, you’re about to get to know him very well, because he is now going to be a part of my life for the rest of it here on Earth. After doing 4 months of international long-distance and not seeing one another at all, Ethan and I were reunited in Zambia. Adventuring around the world while doing the Lord's work with your person is such a special thing. As you can probably tell, Ethan is also a missionary with Overland Missions and doing great work for the Kingdom. He is someone with an elegantly pure heart, he has the largest capacity to love well, has the loudest but best laugh, and above all else, he has such a soft heart for the Lord. Iron sharpens iron took on a new meaning to me when I started dating this man and that meaning will be an ensured definition for my life from now on. We are getting married at the beginning of February 2023. I couldn't be more stoked to live life with my best friend forever.

Coming up next, I will be working hard to complete many projects for the Overland Missions yearly conference while also doing wedding planning. That conference is taking place at Ethan’s church in Jacksonville, Florida, on January 4th - 7th, 2023. Would love to see you there!

Well, I think that's all I've got for now. Love you all!

Until next time,

Victoria
